Psalms 23

Psalms 23 is one of the most popular chapter of Psalms.

Here is Psalms 23 from King James Version:

1  The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.
2  He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
3  He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
4  Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
5  Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
6  Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.

On verse one, the LORD is Jesus.  Remember that Jesus was there with God the Father in Spirit before He was born as a human being.  He is your Shepherd which means that He is your Savior.  The Shepherd is there to take care of His flock which only will go to the voice they trust.  "I shall not want" is actually wrong in translation.  It should have been, "I shall not lack".   That means God wants you to be blessed and not be without what you need in life.  Jesus wants to be involved in your life and make sure that you have everything you need in life!

On verse two, Jesus, our Savior wants you to rest in Him (Spirit).  When we worship Him, it's best to worship Him in Spirit and Truth (John 4:24).  When we worship Him in Spirit and Truth, we rest in Him because our hearts and minds were focusing on the beauty of His Love.  He wants us to renew our minds in Christ and stop worrying about the things in the world.  As human, it's impossible!  But in Faith, it's possible! Keep the Faith, renew your mind in Christ and embrace His Love.

On the third verse of Psalms 23, is my favorite.  He restores or fix your soul back to where it supposed to be, returning to Heaven because of His Righteousness and what He have done for all of us on the Cross.  It's not about what we do to get saved, it's about what we believe in be able to receive His Salvation!  Believe in Him and you shall be saved by Grace! (Ephesians 2:8)

The fourth verse teaches us that we cannot fear the darkness of the Devil.  This world have been corrupted by the Serpent, the one who lied and tricked Eve into taking a bite from the Tree of Good and Knowledge.  Jesus is our Rod and staff which is the picture of Judgement and Punishment.  He took our place on the Cross and defeated the Shadow of Death!  Now, we don't have to face "spiritual"death.  We have eternal life in JESUS because we have victory over DEATH!  Since Jesus have defeated DEATH, why be afraid of darkness?  Don't be afraid and always remember that Jesus is the Light of the World!  His Light conquers darkness and we are in HIS LIGHT!

Let's look at the fifth verse.  This is a picture of communion and covenant with Jesus Christ.  When we accept His Salvation for us, we are partake the Covenant as a contract.  We are now a New Covenant Christians and we can take Communion in Spirit and Truth.  When we break bread, we are acknowledging what Jesus' body been through before and during His sufferings at the Cross.  We are blessed in Christ spiritually, physically and mentally.  We can receive His healing, wisdom, and strength.  As long as we renew our minds in Christ, and focus on what He have done for us at the Cross, we can Rest in Him and not having to worry about anything.

Sixth verse! Let God dwell or live in your heart.  JESUS is GOD!  HE cares about your life, your pain, your everything!  Let Him be your guide as your Shepherd, your food as your Bread of Life, quench your thirst as a Living Water, your salvation as your Savior.  Let His mercy and goodness follow you and be with you 24/7 no matter what problems or circumstances we may face.  No circumstances are to small or big for God to handle.  LET HIM BE IN YOUR LIFE.

Speak to the Mountain!

Matthew 17:20
NKJV
So Jesus said to them, “Because of your unbelief; for assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.

Anytime we have a problem that seemed impossible to be resolved, speak to the problem.  As Christ said, "faith as a mustard seed".  We don't need to have a lot of faith to make it work.  Nothing is impossible to us because we have Christ in us, the Holy Spirit heling us and God the Father, listening to our problems.  There are no problems to easy or hard for God to handle.
I remember on the way to church one day, my family and I went to pick up a wonderful lady on the way to church.  She have been suffering a migraine for awhile and out of the blue, my wife asked me to pray for her before we were on the way to church.  I dipped my index fingers in the annointing oil and place them on the temples of her head and prayed.

Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord.

I remembered that God wanted us to be blessed with health and joy in our lives.  So I prayed for this lady and said "Migraines are the mountians that are interferring her life.  In Jesus' name, go away, i rebuke you through the Blood of Christ.  In your Name, amen".  After I prayed and she bagan to have a converstaion to my wife, she noticed that her migraines were gone!  She was exicted and full of joy and that is all God's doing.  All I did was pray and encouraged her to have faith of a mustard seed or to me, a child like faith.

Nothing is impossible!  You can speak to the problems and allow God to take care of you.  God is your Father and He loves you despite of who you are or what you have done.  Jesus died for you and He have already cleansed you from your sin the moment you say " I believe".

When you have any problem, speak to it through the Name of Christ, and God will do wonders in your life!

Don't climb over the mountains, speak to them!

Acts Chapter One.

Before I get into this book, I would like to let you all know that I will be using different kinds of Bible but mainly KJV for this bible study.  You can use any Bible version of your desire.  I have many different bibles for references, better understanding, and better translation.  There would be days when my brain isn't working right with KJV and I would turn to ESV, NKJV, or HCSB.  To me, KJV may be one of the hardest version to read but I  really love this version.  Before you read this blog, please pray and ask God to give you and me wisdom.  I will never be able to learn everything and will not know everything about the Bible.  Only God knows everything and only through Him, we can acquire wisdom about the Living Word of God.

Here are some notes after reading Acts 1.  Enjoy!

(verse 1-3)
The first 3 verses spoke of how Jesus was ordered to choose the apostles through the Holy Spirit.  He spoke of many proofs, and appearing to them during 40 days.  During those 40 days, He spoke the wonderful things about the Kingdom of God.

(verse 6-8)
Christ wanted the apostles to know that they will be baptized with the Holy Spirit soon and after they heard Him, they asked Him if He will restore the kingdom to Israel, Christ Himself told them that it was not for them to know or worry about.  Their main focus was to receive the power of the Holy Spirit, have church grow by hearing the Gospel, and spread the Gospel throughout the world though the Holy Spirit.

(Verse 9-11)

Jesus was ascended into Heaven and as he was ascending, the apostles watched as He was taken away in a cloud, and still looking up.  Then all of the sudden, the two men in white clothes asked them "....why do you stand gazing up into heaven?" (NKJV verse 11)  Basically what they were saying, He'll come back in the same way the cloud took Him.  Move on, preach the Gospel and bring Salvation to the world.

(Verse 12-14)

These men came together in unity of prayer.  Peter, John, James, Andrew, Phillip, Thomas, Bartholomew, Matthew, James (Son of Alphaeus), Simon, and Judas.  They were  the 12 apostles that Christ have chosen before He ascended into Heaven. Number 12 means tribe, association, organization, or gathering of people.  These 12 men are the "first church" before opening doors to many churches we have today.  These men were the "pioneers" of the church.  If it was not for these men, we probably wouldn't have churches as we do today.

(Verse 15-26)

Barsabas and Matthias were two men they prayed for after this man (unknown), have passed away (verse 18).  Matthias was chosen to take up the apostleship and  ministry that Judas Iscariot have failed.

Genesis Chapter 5: 10 Names and its meanings

My thoughts on Genesis 5.

[Adam] Man (is) [Seth] appointed [Enosh] mortal [Cainan] sorrow, (but) [Mahalelel] the Blessed God (who is JESUS) [Jared] shall come down [Enoch] teaching (that) [Methuselah] His death shall bring [Lamech] powerful [Noah] rest.
"The Man is an appointed mortal sorrow" which means that we are sinners. We came into this world with Sin which means "separation of God".

The Blessed God who is Jesus came to this world with Love, Compassion, and ready to Save us! Ready to Heal us! Not to condemn us but to show us the way of Salvation. In John 14:6 (KJV) "Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by Me."
He came to show us the way by " teaching " us that "His Death shall bring us Salvation and Powerful Rest". This means that our Sins are forgiven by His Blood, His Death, and His Resurrection. He's our redemption, our salvation, and our only way to Heaven. We can Rest knowing that we are saved by Grace, not by our performance but by His finished performance on the Cross. Our duty is just believe in Jesus as our Savior and His finished work.

.
Isn't that amazing. Even names in the Bible have beautiful meanings! God bought Jesus to the earth so that we can learn that Christ's Death bring us REST. The kind of Peace that the world can't give us but Jesus only. He will give us peace when we magnify His name and Trust in the Lord. The more we focus in Him, the more we can receive His Refreshing and Rest.

It's also amazing that there are 10 names that I mentioned up there. 10 in the Bible means Holy just as His 10 Commandments. Since we can't follow His Big 10's perfectly , Christ taught us that His Death will bring Rest in us because He have fulfilled the 10 Commandment for us. The more we are have Jesus in our Hearts and Minds, the more we will sin less because Sin have no dominion over us and because we are new creations in Christ, we are no longer of the flesh about of the Spirit.

Studying the Book of Acts.

I have decided to study the Book of Acts.  The Lord have put the desire into my heart to increase my knowledge in this awesome book.   As I study the Book of Acts, I would like to put down my thoughts in each chapter.  Please pray for me to receive His wisdom and help me grow in His Word.

May God bless you with this blog and stay blessed!

Test the spirits.

Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world. By this you know the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is of God, and every spirit that does not confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God. And this is the spirit of the Antichrist, which you have heard was coming, and is now already in the world. You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world. They are of the world. Therefore they speak as of the world, and the world hears them. We are of God. He who knows God hears us; he who is not of God does not hear us. By this we know the spirit of truth and the spirit of error. (1 John 4:1-6 NKJV)

Where ever we go to church or having bible study group, it is important to make sure the sermons are agreeing to the Word of God. A church should have sound doctrine, no condemning spirits, full of unconditional love for one another. The more we focus on Christ, study and read His Word, and pray, the better we can recognize the difference of the spirit of truth apart from spirit of error.
